Digital Assets @ Duke Debut in Abu Dhabi
The Digital Assets@Dukel Abu Dhabi inaugural conference was held between December 11 and 13 in the spectacular capital city of the United Arab Emirates. Speakers from across the globe participated in a three-day conference that brought together people from industry, regulatory, and academic organizations. The hallmark of robust discussion, which has become synonymous with Digital Assets@Duke, was alive and well. Dr. Jimmie Lenz, one of the conference founders, stated that this conference was the first outside of the Durham North Carolina home, but it will not be the last: “Holding the conference in Abu Dhabi has been a fantastic way to expand our perspectives on digital assets. As this asset class continues to grow and adoption by more traditional financial service companies expands, this conference will become even more important,” said Dr. Lenz, who is also the founding director of the Duke ME in FinTech program.
The active participation by all types of organizations in the region, like Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), Securrency, etc., added significant value to the conference. “As the United Arab Emirates continues to draw new and legacy firms to the region, there is no doubt that this will be an area to seek out cutting-edge innovation. None of this would have been possible without our sponsors: Paladin Capital, Technology Innovation Institute, and Gibson Dunn,” added Jimmie Lenz.
