Overview

Core courses give you the foundations to excel in a variety of design, technology and innovation leadership roles. Core Master of Engineering (MEng) business courses give you the tools and frameworks to translate your innovation into business impact. And finally, electives help you tailor your skills to your particular areas of interest.

Duke’s curriculum covers the fundamentals of design and technology innovation with a project-based, industry-centric approach.

You’ll learn design and innovation frameworks and processes, merging technology and technology prototyping tools and approaches, and business and social impact.

Curriculum Details

Over three semesters, you’ll take six core design and technology innovation courses, two business electives, and three electives. Electives can include any 500-level (Master’s level) or above course (1) offered by the Pratt School of Engineering or (2) identified as a qualifying elective for the graduate Innovation & Entrepreneurship Certificate offered via the Fuqua School of Business. Graduate-level courses not captured in the above requirements may be approved as electives on a petition basis.
