Bio
Scott has worked in the medical device field for the past 30+ years conducting basic research, designing new products, leading multi-disciplinary R&D teams, and managing cross-functional departments. In his current role, he leads engineering teams at Stryker Corporation in design and commercialization of lifesaving technologies for the Emergency Care space. These include market leading patient transport devices, defibrillators, and automatic CPR devices.
Scott’s prior experience at Stryker includes Surgical Instrumentation and Robotics R&D, Regulatory & Quality, and design work where he and his teams developed novel devices for use in orthopedic, neurologic, spine, and ENT surgical procedures
Prior to Stryker, Scott focused on basic research in biomaterials, publishing several peer-reviewed articles and giving presentations at numerous international forums. He holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, has seven US Patents, and is a registered Professional Engineer with the State of Michigan.
