Service to School, a nonprofit founded and led by veterans, has empowered U.S. service members and veterans through its VetLink program by offering high-quality admissions support. This includes free application counseling, peer mentorship, and structured admissions guidance to help veterans identify the best-fit academic programs and succeed in their educational pursuits.

Flexibility in Pathways Includes a Remote Option

The Duke Master in FinTech program offers multiple pathways to fit distinct lifestyle and career goals:

  • Traditional On-Campus (17–22 months)
  • Accelerated On-Campus (12 months)
  • Remote Part-Time (24–29 months), with on-campus residencies and the flexibility to transition to on-campus study

The Remote Part-Time track is particularly well-suited for active-duty service members seeking a direct path into fintech and financial services while balancing their professional and personal responsibilities.

Our industry-led curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning and covers key areas including AI, blockchain, digital assets, and risk systems. Students work in teams to complete a capstone project, applying classroom knowledge to real-world challenges and preparing for rapid career advancement in a field known for strong salary potential and growth. In the Duke FinTech program, we support lifelong learning and equip students for careers that demand adaptability and continuous innovation.

FinTech Engineering as a Career Accelerant

Fintech engineering sits at the forefront of modern finance. According to the World Economic Forum, it is projected to be the second-fastest-growing job category by 2030. From mobile payments and algorithmic trading to blockchain and AI, fintech professionals are building the digital infrastructure that powers global finance.

As program alumnus and Marine Corp veteran Alex Ilgenfritz, now a DBA candidate and researcher at Coinbase, notes:

“The Duke FinTech program opened the door for me to transition from active service into a field that is shaping the future of global finance. The flexibility of the program, especially the remote option, meant I could balance graduate study with my professional and personal commitments.”
